

PAULINE SCOFIELD (NEE WELCH) MUNSTER, IN Pauline Scofield (nee Welch) of Munster passed away on Friday March 29, 2013. She is survived by two sons: Lynn (Rose Marie) Scofield, and Marvin Scofield. Also surviving are granddaughters: Jennifer (Alan) New, Anne Scofield, and Michelle (Jan) Schroeder; great grandchildren: Avery and Zander New, Blaisé and Kate Schroeder. Other survivors are a brother in law and two sisters in law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Karl; three brothers: Cleo, Carl, and Arthur; and one sister, Edna. Pauline was born in Plymouth, IN and grew up on a farm in La Paz, IN. After marriage to her husband Karl she moved to East Chicago, IN and later to Highland, IN. Pauline was owner operator of two businesses along with husband Karl Scofield. Together they built Scofield Bottled Gas previously located in Highland, IN and later became owner/operators of The Broadmoor Motel in Marion IN. She was highly skilled at double entry bookkeeping and other related administrative functions within their businesses. After retirement she traveled throughout the United States with her husband independently and as members of the Holiday Ramblers Travel Club. She visited 34 States, Mexico, and several Canadian Provinces. She enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping with her husband and family. Her hobbies included, crocheting, bead crafts, and she was well known for her baking skills, especially her pies. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Griffith and a member of the Krafty Ladies Club and United Methodist Women's Group. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 3, 2013; 9:30 AM at Kuiper Funeral home 9039 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN Dr. Rev. Randall McQueen officiating, burial Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday April 2 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Albertine House. www.kuiperfh.com
