Warren was born January 29, 1949, in Hammond, IN to Don and Lois (Wilson) McConnell. After Warren graduated from Griffith High School in 1967, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Wanda (Eaton), in 1968. During their 56 years of marriage, they had three children.
Warren worked at Inland Steel for 31 years, starting out as an apprentice and, through his hard work, retired as a Maintenance Supervisor. After he retired from Inland Steel, Warren and Wanda relocated to Cartersville, GA for 14 years, where Warren worked at Gerdau Ameristeel as a Finishing End Supervisor/Plant Buyer for 6 years. However, Warren and Wanda spent most of their life in Northwest Indiana, surrounded by their loving families.
Warren was an all-around handyman, trusted friend and neighbor. He was always willing to help everyone in any way that he could with a mindset of paying it forward. Getting together with family and friends was the thing he enjoyed most.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Lois (Wilson) McConnell; brother, Marvin McConnell; and brother-in-law, Dale Weddell.
Warren and Wanda had 3 children. Warren is survived by son, Sean (Sandy) McConnell; daughters, Sandy Hyatte and Sherri (Ted) Bycroft; grandchildren, Rob Early, Josh Early, Colby (Lisa) Bycroft, Keely (Austin) Demers, Jacob Gustafson, Isabella (Tyler) Regan, Jonathan Hyatte, Rylee Duvall, Ryanne Duvall, and Ryan Gustafson; three great-grandchildren, Michael Demers, Everleigh Anderson, and Camden Bycroft; his sister, Donna (McConnell) Weddell; sisters-in-law, Connie (Moore) McConnell and Rosalee (Amsden) Propst; brothers-in-law, Sterling (Pam Evans) Eaton, Mel (Linda Fraley) Eaton, and Frank (Suzanne Schugars) Eaton.
