His sudden departure has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. He was born on May 1, 1959 in Chicago IL, the son of Joseph and Donna Somodi.
Billy worked as a grain elevator operator for 38 years at Lakeside Grain and Feed. He loved his job and was a loyal employee with an outstanding work ethic. He was a long-time Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan but, interestingly enough, he was an even bigger Minnesota Vikings fan. He was a loving brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He was generous and kind to all of his family and friends and will forever be remembered for the fun he brought to every holiday gathering. He loved to fish and camp over the years, but his greatest happiness came from his family and the friends he met along the way. Billy lived out his faith daily, demonstrating kindness and strength. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Billy is survived by his brothers, Stephen Somodi, Frank (Pamela) Somodi, John (Andrea) Somodi, and Andrew (Amanda) Somodi; sisters, Barbara (William) Bennett, Elizabeth (David) Schuster, Andrea Lipson, Mary Somodi, and Julianna (David) Patricoski, sister in-law, Shirley Somodi (late Michael); and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Donna Somodi; and brother, Michael Somodi.
