Benny Joe Sneed

Benny Joe Sneed, age 94, the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16. Our prayer warrior and dad went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 9, 2026.

Joe lived in Soddy Daisy and loved his community. He loved sports and coached his kids and grandkids. He was an avid Tennessee fan and watched football and especially Women’s basketball and softball.

He is survived by his children Joe Sneed (Julie), Pat Renfro (Bill), Debbie Thurman, Tina Morgan (Guerry), Jamie Sumner, Brooke Antinore (Jack); Eleven Grandchildren Eric Renfro, Candy Frazier, April Wilkey, Dane Sumner, Amanda Cotter, Paige Sumner, Juliana Fitzpatrick, Hayden and Garner Cox, Samuel and Simon Sneed; 17 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, Parents Maggie and Leonard Sneed and his loyal dog Buddy.

The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, at The Galilean Church, 8609 Walnut Road, Hixson, TN 37343.

A Celebration of Joe’s life will follow at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday at the Church with his son, Reverend Pastor Joe Sneed officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
