He was born in Deltaville, VA. Bernard was a graduate of Syringa (VA) High School, and he proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Bernard was a long time member of Oakwood Baptist Church. He retired from Crane Supply Company, and Ferguson Enterprises.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Loretta Harrow, his parents, Earl and Annie Harrow, and sisters, Charlotte Harrow, and Marie Batley.
Bernard is survived by his children; Debra Merriman, of Chattanooga, Sandra (Doyle) Williams, of Camden, TN and Terry (Shirley) Harrow, of Chattanooga. He was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great grandchild on the way. Bernard is also survived by 3 sisters; Earline (Charles) Perkinson, of Deltaville, VA, Eleanor (Wade) Hudgins, of Virginia Beach, VA and Carolyn Dize, of Mathews, VA, and brother Charles (Loretta) Harrow, Maidens, VA, also a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday July 23, 2025 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM with Air Force Honors in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at North Chapel.
