Mr. Billy J. Chesnut, 84, of Hixson, passed away at his residence on Friday, February 17, 2017. Billy was born in Gadsden, Alabama on June 17, 1932. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Dupont. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William D. and Louvenia (Stowe) Chesnut. Survivors include his wife, Christine A. Chesnut; daughters, Diane Griffin and Renee Shadden (Eric) and grandson, Adam Griffin (Sandee), all of Hixson; and sister, Patsy Reagan of Birmingham, AL. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 19th from 3-7 pm and Monday from 11 am to 1 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 1:30 pm with interment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
