Billy was born in Bonifay, Florida where he spent most of his early years. After graduation, Billy served during WWII in the U. S. Army before joining the Air Force. He was retired from the local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, working mostly at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, where he received a Letter of Accommodation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Annie Strickland Vestby.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Joyce Strickland; children, Bobby (Paula Jean) Strickland, David Lee (Deborah) Strickland, and Michael (Melissa) Strickland; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, April 14th at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 10 AM on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
