Bobby Lamont Melton

He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on May 31,1939 to the late Robert and Myrtle Melton. His daughters, Deborah Diane Wells and Lisa Marie Dickerson, brother, Marvin Melton and sister, Ernestein Campbell preceded him in death.

Bobby was a proud marine veteran. He worked for Chattanooga Coke and Chemical Facility as a Senior Foreman for many years. He loved the TN Vols, golf, fishing, photography and all the western movies, especially anything with John Wayne.

Bobby was a loving husband, father and papa to his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was a kind, gentle, silly man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Melton, son, David Lamont Melton (Denise), grandchildren, Christina Priessnitz, Paige Southerland (Ben), Jamie Lowry (Lyndsey), Tyler Wells (Priscilla) and Regan Case, great- grandchildren, Joshua Schurer, Addysen Lange, Blake Priessnitz, Olivia, Ella and Everett Southerland, Jackson Wells and sister, Gloria Shauf.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 12 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025 in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12 PM in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
