Carmelita Johnson Mobbs, age 81, of Hixson died Friday December 16, 2011. She was born December 11, 1930 in Marshall County, Alabama to the late Leonard and Ruby Johnson along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lowell R. Mobbs and sisters Janette Gilmore and Sarah Williams.
Mrs. Mobbs was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church for 51 years. She retired from Dupont after 25 years of service.
Survivors include children Mike (Kay) Mobbs and Annette (Mike) Parker; grandchildren Kevin (Kristen) Mobbs, Kristopher (Julie) Mobbs, Korey (Mary) Mobbs, Rebecca (Steve) George and Ben (Bonnie) Parker; great grandchildren Chase, Cooper, Luke, Tyler, Zoe, Ruby, Cian and Isla; sisters Imogene Godwin and Mary Ann Hotalen; brother Winford Johnson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday December 18 in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Bell and Rev. Roger DeHart officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 4-6.
