Charlene was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and was a 1966 graduate of Central High School.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Leon Vinson, II; her husband, Jimmy Swafford; and her father, Newton Evans.
Charlene is survived by her mother, Edna Mae Evans; her children, “Bobby” Babb (Tammy) and Kim Hartley (Mike Bivens); grandchildren, Amber Hartley (Shadoe Pate), Justin Babb and Tucker McClendon; great granddaughter, Madilyn Shayde Pate; brothers, Bill Evans and Jim (Deborah) Evans; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
