Charles obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Middle Tennessee State University. He retired from Hamilton County Schools after serving 37 years as Principal in several schools. He was a member of Red Bank Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Bean.
Survivors include Clara, his wife of 61 years; sons, Charles E. (Renee) Bean Jr. and Gary Bean; daughter, Marsha (Lenny) Sernulka of Fort Mill, South Carolina; grandchildren Staci Sernulka, Columbia, South Carolina and Brian Sernulka, Atlanta; and a brother, Joe (Dorothy) Bean.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 22 from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the North Chapel. Service will follow at 2:30 PM with Rev. Everett Gossett officiating; burial in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.
