He was a United States Marine Veteran serving in the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart.
Mr. Gamble retired from the Chattanooga Police Department after 33 years of service. He also served four years on the Chattanooga Fire Department.
He was a member of the Limestone Masonic Lodge #176 in Birchwood, Tennessee. He had served as Past Master of the Fidelity and Limestone Lodges. Kenneth was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret F. Gamble; one daughter, Janice (Jimmy) Pierce of Ringgold; one son, Brent (Gayle) Gamble of Signal Mountain; two sisters, JoAnn DeFriese of Chattanooga; Donna Hill of Marietta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Wesley Pierce, Kevin (Heather) Pierce, Anna (Keith) Rawlston, Andrew Gamble and Aaron Gamble; and three great grandchildren, Maddox Pierce, Mays Rawlston, and Cade Rawlston.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the North Chapel. Interment will follow at McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood, Tennessee with Masonic Services.
