Charles was born on January 18, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He attended Brainerd High School and graduated in 1964. He attended Medical School at UT Memphis, graduating in 1972 and becoming a radiologist. He worked in Dalton, Georgia, later working as a “traveling” radiologist between several hospitals before he began working in Savannah Tennessee.
He was an accomplished musician and enjoyed playing the guitar. He had a beautiful voice and at one time had a local tv show in Savannah, where he sang requests from listeners…often the old hymns. Affectionately known in Savannah as “Doc”, his program gave pleasure to many. He became disabled due to a major illness in his later life.
Charles is survived by his son, John (Lisa), his grandchildren Jonah and Norah, his sister Sara, and a niece and several nephews. He is also survived by his faithful friend, Julie Flatt, who has been his caregiver for many years.
Charles will be sadly missed by those who loved him.
