She is preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Grovie Burton; husband, Charles P. Oxford; brother, Paul Burton and grandson, Bradley Carter.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Denise) Blake, Debbie (Toby) Carter and Doug Oxford; sister, Dorothy Smith; brothers, Dale Burton and John Clayton (Pat) Burton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Mary Burton for all of your care and compassion during difficult times and the staff at the Court Yard at Deer Ridge.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 3 pm with Rev. Terry Shannon officiating. A committal service will follow the funeral service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
