Cora Lee (Knighten) Springer, 90, passed away Friday, October 26 in a local health care facility. A native of Oklahoma City, OK, she had lived most of her adult life in the Chattanooga area. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank.
Cora was a hairdresser and she enjoyed many artistic hobbies, including oil painting, rug hooking and stained glass.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. and Esther Knighten; her husband of 60 years, E.A. “Sonny” Springer and siblings, Dorothy, Nancy, Anna, Robert and Woody.
Survivors include sons, Ron (Becky) Springer and E. Allen (Linda) Springer Jr; grandchildren, E. Allen Springer III, Adam (Jean) Springer, John D. Payton and Aarin Brown.; two great-grandchildren; sisters Jeanne and Mary and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 12 Noon on Monday, October 29 at the North Chapel. A service will be held at Noon Monday at North chapel with Dwight Martin officiating; interment in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
