

A native of Chattanooga, David was born on December 4, 1947. He grew up in Jefferson City, Tennessee, and graduated from Jefferson County High School. He loved spending summers with his cousins on the river in Marion County. After serving in the U.S. Navy, David earned a degree in computer science from Chattanooga State Community College. He worked in the computer field in various capacities throughout his adult life, living in Woodstock, Georgia, for many years, and retiring in Oviedo, Florida. In his spare time, he loved restoring cars, playing golf, and spending time at the beach.
David was preceded in death by his parents and the wife he adored, Mary Bowman Long. Survivors include three daughters and their spouses, Kimberly and Todd Kramer, Katrina and Adam Rowland, and Angela Saunders and fiancé Craig Mynard; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Kristy Green; and five grandchildren, Aiden Rowland, Kayla and her husband Zack Pollock, Corey Green, Reese Saunders, and Riley Saunders.
