Ed, 88 years old, went home to His Lord and Savior on November 22, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Florence Geiger as well as Arlene his wife of 42 years, and daughters Tracy Geiger of Sacramento, California and Kimberly Mansfield of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Ruth Cote of 11 years and daughter Kelly Geiger of Pensacola, Florida. In addition, to his daughter he was very proud of his grandchildren Mitch and Annie Mansfield of Kalamazoo.
Ed was born and raised in Chicago. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp and achieved a degree of Business Administration from Northwestern University School of Business
He worked in financial management positions for Fortune 500 companies in Chicago, Cleveland, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan. He took advantage of an early retirement from Chrysler at 55. He then became a partner in Financial Resources, a financial consulting practice.
Ed was a lifelong golfer and enjoyed playing with his friends and Ruth at Creeks Bend. He also enjoyed dabbling in the stock market and tracking the political issues of the day. Ed was also a runner and ran in several half marathons and quite a few 10k's in his younger days.
Ed worshiped our Lord at St. Jude Catholic Church. While living in Knoxville and subsequent to Arlene's passing, he was a Eucharist Minister at St. John Neuman parish bringing communion to shut ins on a weekly basis. He also dedicated a weekly hour to the Adoration Chapel in both Knoxville and Hixson.
Because Ed chose to be cremated there will not be any services.
