

Edward Stanton Leal Sr. 82, of Hixson, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, January 2, 2015. He was born March 12, 1932 in Delhi, New York to the late William and Dorothy Leal. He will always be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Leal; daughter, Kelly Kannon; and sisters, Eleanor Rueber and Margaret McLean.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Katie Leal; son, Edward S. Leal, Jr. of Andes, New York; Daughter, Deborah Leal of Hixson, Tennessee; son, Robert (Molly) Leal of Glen Allen, Virginia; son-in-law, Greg Kannon of Winter Garden, Florida; brother, Jack Leal of Dunnelion, Florida; sister-in-law, Fran (William) Alt of Lookout Mountain, Georgia; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He spent his early life as a dairy farmer in upstate New York. In later years, he retired from Chattanooga State. He had a love for music and sang in several church choirs, as well as played the saxophone and clarinet. He always had a joke and a smile.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Venue Church, 5959 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421, Lead Pastor Tavner Smith. Conducting the service will be Campus Pastor B. J. Smith, and Care Pastor Tom Finlayson.
Burial will be at a later date in Delhi, New York.
