Elizabeth Sue Barnett, Age 86 of Harrison, TN passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 after a long battle with Vascular Dementia.She was a native of Clayhole, KY and graduated from Breathitt County High School in 1955. Her profession, before being a domestic homemaker, was working for the State of Kentucky. Her true calling was being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Norton and Sally Davis Dillard, eleven aunts and uncles and her three siblings, Jack Norton, Betty Lou Pedigo, and Chelsea Norton. She has been reunited with her husband of 62 years, James Hampton “Hamp” Barnett and will live forever with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sue is survived by one aunt, Hilda Anthony-Dorff of Canton, Ohio, all her children; Jamie Behler (Gary), Gary Barnett, Pam Torres (Gene), and Elizabeth Ann Putman (Robert), eight grandchildren; Brittany Behler Haynes, Jared Behler, Tyler Barnett, Jennifer Torres Otis, Amanda Torres, Samantha Torres Baker, Erica Putman and Ashley Putman, three great grandchildren; Aiden and Adelynn Otis and Baker Barnett.
The family will receive friends on Saturday 1-6-24 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Bayside Baptist Church, 6100 TN-58, Chattanooga, TN . The funeral service will follow at Noon with Dr. Steve Highlander officiating. Entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Honorary pallbearers will include Keith Vaughn, Gary Barnett, Gary Behler, Robert Putman, Gene Torres, Jared Behler, Tyler Barnett, and Michael Haynes.
