Marge Forbes passed away at the age of 98 in Hixson, Tennessee.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois as the 6th child of the Kratochvil family.
In 1947 she married her High School Sweetheart Edward (Eddie) Forbes, and went on to have 4 children; Debie, Dean, Mark and Jamie.
Marge loved music and singing; she had a gift for writing poetry from a young age and all through-out her life; and her poetry told “her life story” for us to cherish. She loved to paint; cook and bake; and loved being a mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a beautiful smile and the warmest hugs.
She truly “smelled the roses” along her path of life, finding beauty in everyone and everything. She loved nature especially the birds she watched in her birdfeeder outside her window.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband Edward Forbes of 66 years, her parents Charles and Josephine (Sedlacek) Kratochvil; Brothers Charles and Robert Kratochvil; sisters Blanch (Kratochvil) Kos; Josephine (Kratochvil) Hrejsa; Mildred (Kratochvil) Waldoch; and daughter in law Cindy (Mark) Forbes.
Marge is survived by daughters Debie (Rick) Mikel, Chattanooga, TN and Jamie (Rick) Dell, Hixson, TN; sons Dean (Carol) Forbes, Tarpon Springs, FL and Mark Forbes, Lawrenceville, GA; and 10 Grand-children and 17 Great-Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
We thank the special caregivers (Carolyn, Carol, Jackie, Frances, Linda and Karen) that were so loving to her with her needs and she loved them like family. She shared her life stories with them and they truly got to know her.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Marge’s life will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
