He was born in Macon, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia and spent 27 years in textiles sales for Shuford Mills, Inc. Upon retirement Cay became well known for his volunteer work. He was a founding member of the Chattanooga Green Team and spent time volunteering at the Chattanooga Aquarium and The Ronald McDonald House. Cay spent many Christmas mornings spreading cheer dressed as Santa Clause serving meals at the Community Kitchen. He received the Jefferson Award as recognition for his volunteer work.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Ozburn and his sister Sue Ozburn.
Cay is survived by his daughter, Mary Helen Watson, son Tom Ozburn, and grandchildren Ella and Max Watson, and Thomas and Allie Grace Ozburn.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, Alexian Brothers Health Care and dear friend Agnes Dodds for the love and support they showed to Cay.
Memorial service will be held Thursday January 13th at 3:00 pm at Signal Crest United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
