Hazel always had a smile on her face and loved her family as a wife and mother. She was known for her strong belief in her spiritual faith, and she never meet a stranger. There was no one that left her residence without feeding them because she wanted no one to go hungry. Anyone who knew her would unanimously agree that she lead life with her heart.
Hazel's early life was filled with the closeness she had for her 13 siblings, extended family, and friends. Protecting and caring for her family was paramount to her character. This life experience prepared her for being a great homemaker, wife, and mother.
Hazel and her husband in the 60s and 70s traveled the country coast to coast wherever work was provided after finally settling down in her hometown of Soddy Daisy. She extended her vision of a close family structure traversing the east coast and gave her children the freedom to choose their own vacations from Florida to Canada.
As her children grew, she expected more of them to further their education to create more opportunities in their futures. Because of her efforts the family still remains close.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roy Tate, daughter, Ellen Tate, son Gerry Tate and sister Rosa Lovelady.
