Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on the USS Intrepid. His leadership skills were admirable and he was proud to serve his country. Jimmy served as a Mason, Volunteer Masonic Lodge #549 F&AM and he proudly served as a Shriner and Often transported children to hospitals in other parts of the state.
Jimmy loved to travel to Madeira Beach, Florida with his family, he loved to fish and was an avid golfer. Jimmy was known for his quick witted sense of humor. He had a tough external, but the softest of hearts. Jimmy was a business owner of industrial supplies and sales. He was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church of Signal Mountain, TN.
He is preceded in death by his father, Reverend Dennis Hannah; mother, Dorothy Hannah; his brothers, Dennis Carl Hannah, and twin brothers, Ronald and Donald Hannah; his sister, Denise Thacker; and his beloved granddaughter, Brittany Menerey.
He is survived by his children, Elaine Hill (Paul Hill), Lisa Jones, Mark Friel & Rick Friel; granddaughter, Lauren Alday (Ben Alday); Nieces, Jeri Hannah and Veronica Gray; Nephews, Dennis Carl Hannah 11, Derek Hannah, Ron Hannah and Eric Thacker; great grandchildren, Bayley and Coltyn Thomas, Rylan Alday; and several cousins.
The family will receive friends at Chattanooga Funeral Home (North chapel), located at 5401 TN-153, Hixson TN, on Monday March 18th from 10:00 am -11:30 am. Funeral services will be at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
