

Jason Aaron Holman, a beloved and kind-hearted young man, passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 46. Born on September 3, 1979, at Fort Knox, Kentucky, Jason was the cherished son of Jim and Linda Holman. Throughout his father's military career, Jason attended various schools, eventually graduating from Central High School in Kentucky. Following his service in the US Army, he furthered his education by earning a Master's Degree in criminal justice.
Jason bravely joined the Army in 2000 and was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, in the 502nd Airborne Division. He served his country with distinction in Iraq from 2002 to 2003 before being honorably discharged in 2005. While in service he earned the Bronze Star Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Expert Infantry Badge and the Parachutist Badge. After completing his college education, Jason attended the police academy and served with the Chattanooga Police Department for several years. He later transferred to the Huntsville Police Department, where he served the community for five years.
A loyal friend and dedicated athlete, Jason excelled in martial arts, achieving the level of black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Judo, Taekwondo, and Muay Thai. His passion for martial arts led him to travel the world, training under master instructors in Thailand and Europe. He was also an avid reader of many genres. Jason had a lifelong passion for collecting comics.
Jason was deeply involved in his community, working with numerous youth groups to teach martial arts and supporting fellow veterans through various groups. His genuine nature, great storytelling ability, sense of humor, and love for animals left a lasting legacy among those who knew him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the North Precinct of the Huntsville Police Department, especially Captain Widner, for their support during this difficult time.
He is preceded in death by his father, LTC James William Holman, Jr.; paternal grandparents, James William Holman, Sr. and Rose Cotten Holman; maternal grandfather, Samuel Arredondo, Sr.; maternal aunt, Elisa E. McVoy; and paternal aunt, Joy (Phil) Daniel.
Here to honor Jason’s legacy are his mom, Linda Salina Holman; maternal grandmother, Kate F. Arredondo; maternal aunts, Cynthia (Charlie) Moppin and Norma (Jose) Olivencia; maternal uncle, Samuel (Christina) Arredondo, Jr.; paternal aunt, Jeanie (Mike) McKenna; maternal cousins, Kimberly Parker, Reynaldo Olivencia, Enrique Olivencia, Michael Scott McVoy, Richard McVoy, Paul Samuel McVoy, Christopher McVoy, Joshua McVoy, Chase Arredondo, Derek Arredondo, Riley Arredondo, and Reese Arredondo; paternal cousins, Katie (Paul) Fretz, Annie Powell, Sean (Sarah) McKenna, and Ryan McKenna; and beloved partner, Jasmina Clyburn.
A visitation for Jason will be Monday, January 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home – North, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, TN 37343. The funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home starting at 6:00 pm.
Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 9:30 am before proceeding to Chattanooga National Cemetery for the 10:30 service where Jason will receive military honors.
