Jessie was born on January 2, 1925 to the late Carroll and Ruth Byars Denton. He served our country during World War II in the U. S. Navy. Jessie retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with over 37 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Vera Nadine Denton.
Jessie is survived by his son, Jack Denton; granddaughter and her husband, Jayne Anne and Blair Hutchins; sisters, Allene Denton and Marie Quinn.
The family will receive friends from 12 (noon) to 2:30 pm on Tuesday, February 18, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Services for Jessie will follow at 2:30 on Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
