She was born in Chattanooga to the late James and Ruth Workman. Jimmie was a 1955 graduate of Central High School. She retired from DuPont with over 30 years and was a longtime member of Concord Baptist Church. Jimmie was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and loved scrapbooking.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Garren and sister, Glenda Sisson.
Jimmie is survived by her two sons, Jimmy (Teresa) Garren and Timmy Garren; brother, Bob (Linda) Workman; grandchildren, Jim (Julie) Garren and Tinsley (Matt Swan) Garren; nephews and nieces, Rod Sisson, Walt Sisson, Robin Orr and Kellye Stanley; several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, September 18, and 12 noon until 1 pm on Tuesday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Jimmie’s life will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday at the North Chapel.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
