Joe Hutton

Joe was a lifelong resident of Hixson and attended Hixson schools. He served our country in the U. S. Army Air Corp, 384 fighter squadron for 22 months in England. Joe was a longtime member of Fairview United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Joe Hutton & Son Paving Company for over 40 years. After his retirement he opened Rising Son Stables for the next 25 years. Joe was an avid quail hunter, loved to ride motorcycles, enjoyed horseback riding and Pack Trips.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Joe is survived by his children, Janice H. Lambert and her husband, Leslie H. Lambert, Jr. and Randy J. Hutton and his wife Jane Hutton; four grandchildren, Joseph and Jonathan Lambert, Davina Hutton, and Erica Hill and her husband Josh; three great grandchildren, Aidan, Roxie, and Henry; longtime companion of 25 years, Clara Russell; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, September 7, and 10:30 to 11:30 am on Wednesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Joe’s life will follow at 11:30 am on Wednesday at the North Chapel with Reverend Braxton Cotton officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

We respectfully request that "social distancing", wearing masks, and all CDC measures be followed at the funeral home and cemetery.
