He was born in Clermont, Georgia to the late John and Bessie Jarrard. John was a 1962 graduate of Central High School, then he joined the United States Air Force, where he served our country for over 23 years. John retired from Kenco as a supervisor. He was of the Baptist faith and an avid fisherman. John was also known as “The Flower Man”, at the 23rd street flea market and East Ridge flea market.
He was preceded in death by his three sisters and brother.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Justina Mayo Jarrard; daughters, Anna Jarrard and Tina (Kerry) Clark; granddaughter, Sydney Clark; sister, Ruth Sayne; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesday, September 7, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of John’s life will follow at 1 pm on Tuesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
