John Randal “Randy” Ward of Hixson, age 64, crossed over into his heavenly home after a 4 year battle with cancer on Thursday, September 10, 2020. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Randy will be best remembered by his hard work, kind heart, giving spirit, willingness to help others, and the love he had for his family. He retired from UPS after 40years and was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church of Hixson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Faye ward; grandmother Pearl “Pie”; 2 brothers, Timmy and Gary Ward; and daughter, Heather Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Mechelle Ward; sons, Adam (Amanda) Ward and Cory Ward; daughters, Melissa (Matt) Green and Paige McClure; 9 grandchildren; brother, David Ward; several nieces and nephews; and mother of Adam, Melissa and Cory, Pamela Keith.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 14th from 10am -2 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral will be in the funeral home chapel Monday at 2 pm with Rev. Michael Combs Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be sons, Adam and Cory Ward; son-in-law, Matt Green; brother, David Ward; and friends, Mike Weathers and Dave DeLorenzo.
Revelations 21:4 – “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: For the former things are passed away.”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in Randy’s honor.
