John Greenough Wilson, 45, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on October 13, 2024. Born in Murfreesboro, TN, on March 31, 1979, John spent his early childhood in McMinnville, TN, before moving to Sewanee, TN, where he spent most of his school years. He graduated from St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School and went on to earn his college degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.
After college, John moved to the Portland, Oregon area, where he worked for several years at the Oregon Zoo and Reed College, combining his love for animals and education. He eventually returned to Tennessee to be closer to family.
John is survived by his mother, Rowena (Randy) Robinson, his father, Jack Wilson, his brother, Winston Wilson, and many loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. The family will receive friends with a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time at North Chapel.
The family requests that donations be made to the McKamey Animal Center in honor of John’s lifelong love for animals.
