

Kenneth E. Barnes was peacefully welcomed into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 4, 2026. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Betty, and a faithful servant of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Allie Barnes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 65 years, Betty M. Barnes; his brother, Mike C. Barnes; his sister-in-law, Gail T. Maner; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and a host of dear friends. The family extends a special thanks to cherished friends, Martin and Rita Smith, for their love and support.
Kenneth became a Christian early in life and remained steadfast in his faith until the very end. He was a faithful member of the Red Bank Church of Christ, where he served in many capacities throughout the years.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Following his military service, Kenneth retired from Provident after 33 years as an underwriter.
Kenneth loved sports and was an avid golfer, spending many beautiful days on the course enjoying fellowship with friends. As an alumnus of The University of Tennessee, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Vols, faithfully supporting his beloved Tennessee teams.
The family will receive friends at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. A Celebration of Kenneth’s life will follow at 5:30 p.m., with Minister Steve Lusk officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Red Bank Church of Christ.
