

Lawrence Alan Dietterich , 57 of Soddy Daisy passed away January 9, 2012.
Larry came to Chattanooga and fell in love not only with the city but also his beautiful wife, Priscilla who he met at Rivermont Golf and Country Club in 1994 and married in 1997. He loved golf and all kinds of water sports, spending his spare time sailing, windsurfing and golfing. He also spent many hours under the hood of his prized possessions, his truck and corvette.
Larry and Priscilla had a lot of good times traveling, playing golf and spending time with friends and family. Larry adored his son, Larry Jr.and grandson, Tyler, daughters, Mitzie, Emily-Ann, and granddaughters, Mason, McKayla, and grandsons, Brayden, Landen and daughter-in-law, Kyra.
Larry was a talented stone designer who designed and built the specialty rock work for projects such as the Tennessee Aquarium, the Tree of Life at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and most recently the Whomping Willow for the Harry Potter addition to Universal Theme Park, several zoo’s and golf courses throughout the country and Canada.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Dietterich, and a brother David Dietterich Jr.
Lawrence is survived by a wife, Priscilla Mitts Dietterich, mother, Ruth Dietterich, son Lawrence Dietterich Jr, daughters Mitzie Williams and Emily-Ann Walcott. Grandchildren Mason Williams, Brayden Walcott, McKayla Duckett, Landen Walcott, Tyler Dietterich; and daughter-in-law Kyra Dietterich, brother, Dale Dietterich and a sister, Karen, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 , at the Chattanooga Memorial Park with The Reverend and Honorable Sam Payne officiating. Pallbearers will be Byron Mitts, Adam Mitts, David Wilson, Butch Thomas, Eric Widner, Jack Jennings. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the North Chapel.
