Lockie Marie Melton, 91, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Jennings Bryan and Dorothy Mae Crumley Payne and was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
Lockie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Pete” Melton, brothers, Dan, Kenzel, Wallace, Winston, and Dennis Payne.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Jim) Mahoney of Hixson, Linda (Rick) Woods of Kingston, TN, grandson, Chad (Dawn) White of Murfreesboro, TN, Shane (Susan) Woods of Oak Ridge, TN, Dustin Woods of Knoxville, TN, great-granddaughters, Lilly and Abby Woods of Oak Ridge, TN, special friend, Rosa Collins, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bill Harvey officiating. A private entombment will follow the service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
