Carol was born in White Cottage, Ohio to the late Nelson and Lois Smith. She was a nurse for nearly 40 years at Erlanger Hospital, and in her later years she specialized in diabetic education.
Carol loved her Hixson/Clear Creek Church family. For some time she provided oversight of the communion preparation for each Sunday. For many of these years, she prepared homemade communion bread as a part of those communion services. Carol loved sharing the good news of Jesus Christ which included the World Bible School
She and Boodie traveled to 46 different states attending medical conferences, Christian lectureships and visiting various state and national parks.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Roberta Redmond, and Mary Jo Fore.
Carol is survived by her husband of 65 years, Boodie Fox and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm on Monday, June 15, at Clear Creek Church of Christ, 5612 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343.
A Celebration of Carol’s Life will follow at 3 pm on Monday at the Church with Steve Campbell, and Ricky Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
