Mamie Jo Thompson

Mrs. Thompson was born on March 22, 1923, to Dewey and Edna West of Cookeville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Thompson, granddaughter, Michelle Chapman, three sisters and a brother.

Mamie Jo was a charter member of Memorial Baptist Church, a member of The Gathering Church, and a devoted Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Thompson was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her two children, Mark (Brenda) Thompson, of Ooltewah, TN, Linda Thompson, of Crowsville, LA, five grandchildren, Jodie Thompson, of Chattanooga, TN, Jennifer (Michael) Broussard, of LA, Candi (Jimmy) Bise, of MD, Scott (Kassie) Madaris, of Chattanooga, TN, James Trower, of Chattanooga, TN, and four great-grandchildren, Alexandria Thompson, of Carrollton, GA, Tiffany Chapman, of Monroe, LA, Matthew (Apryl) Chapman, of Winnsboro, LA, JoLee (Brad) Clark, of Winnsboro, LA, sister-in-law, Mona West, of Cookeville, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021, in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor David Price officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
