She was a resident of Chattanooga for 52 years and retired from ABC Cleaners on Shallowford Road. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dillon Barnes, Sr. and Faye Barnes; husband, William E. “Buddy” Reed; son, James Anthony Morgan; sisters, Frankie Barnes, Stella Mae Smith, and Wilma Beene; brother, Tom Barnes.
Martha is survived by her son, John Morgan and wife Lynn; two granddaughters, Starr Morgan and Dean Abdelkader; great grandchildren, Morgan Wynne, Baker Zink and Annabelle Zink; brother, J.D. Barnes, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 7 and from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 8 at the North Chapel.
Services for Martha will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the North Chapel with the Rev. Shad Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
