Mary B. Beard, 94, of Collegedale, Tennessee passed away February 3, 2012. Mary and her late husband, Gordon, lived in Spring City, Pennsylvania until their retirement. The couple then moved to Saint Petersburg, Florida where they lived 25 years and were active members of the Saint James Methodist Church. Mary was active in all ministries that involved the service. She lived her life looking for ways to serve others.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Gordon Beard. Mary is survived by her son, Donald Beard of Ooltewah, his wife, Karen; their son, Eric of Charleston, South Carolina; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the North Chapel. Officiating will be Amy Nutt, the Associate Pastor of Ooltewah Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Garden with Eric Beard, grandson, Jerry Wilson, Ken Barker, Steve Ray, Bob Rogers, and David Cowan serving as active pallbearers.
