I will never forget Nancy. Nancy and I had Home Ec class together at Central High. One day our class had to prepare food on our gas units. Nancy and I were trying to light the burner we were sharing. I said, "Nancy, you keep an eye on the burner while I try to light it." Well, we were two of the 3 stooges. She got real close to look down at the burner and I was lighting the flame. All of a sudden the flame lit like SHWOO! Nancy looked up at me and, oh my, her bangs were singed. I yelled out while I reached for the dish towel and was hitting her bangs with it. She said, "Am I on fire!?" I said no but you lost some of your bangs! Thank goodness she always  wore a pony tail so it didn't burn anymore hair! I remember this and now I can laugh about it, Thank goodness Miss York didn't fail us. The last time we were together was tea time at Mtn. Oaks Manor years ago. She was fun to be around. See you in Heaven, my friend.

Dear Family,
A friend and I used to sit in front of Nancy and Larry at church.  I always enjoyed talking to them before the service would start.  Such a sweet couple!   Not long ago, Nancy called me just to chat.  It was wonderful hearing from her.   I know you miss her and Larry so very much!     Thinking of you with deepest sympathy.

Nancy was a wonderful friend whom I have known since we were both children and I will cherish the precious memories that we had together.    Though the void she leaves behind can never be replaced, the way she touched our lives, the memories of her that we hold dear to our heart, and the love that she so faithfully shared will never be forgottten.
As we say "good-bye" here on earth, her loved ones who have gone on before her are saying "Welcome Home!"  (especially Larry)
Now she is with her Lord, who doubtless welcomed her home with  "Well done, good and faithful servant:. Enter into the joy of your Lord."  [Matt. 25:21]
Just for fun, I called her 'Prancy'...Good-bye sweet Prancy, until we meet again around God's throne.   
Our prayers are with her precious family....whom we love!

I just found out today about your mother. I worked with her several years at Nephrology Associates. She was both funny and sweet. I did attend a few gospel singings with her that she really enjoyed. She loved her family very much and spoke of you all highly including Larry.  I will remember you in prayer, I know it's hard losing your Mother.  I will tell you what I told a friend the other day as scripture says, To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Amen!

Nancy and Larry were dear friends for us and for my parents, Earle and Jean Stevens, and especially those years after they moved back to Chattanooga from Memphis in 1985. They graciously took up the task of sending and mailing out our prayer letters for the next 8 years, and when Daddy went to be with the Lord in ‘99, Nancy and Larry were at his bedside singing hymns, and they continued to be a loving support for Mother. What a sweet person Nancy was, fun to be with, and down to earth with her wisdom! We were so blessed and enjoyed knowing them both for many years!  Psalm 84:4
