Paul David Phillips

Paul David Phillips, of the Soddy-Daisy community, was born on February 6, 1941, in Oneida, Tennessee, and passed away peacefully at his home on December 2, 2025. He will be remembered as a man with a gentle nature and a steadfast love for those closest to him. He lived a quiet life shaped by the strength to meet the challenges of life on his own terms.

David spent his early years working alongside his father at the family business, Phillips Drive-In, where he learned the value of community and service. Throughout his life, he explored many paths and found success in a variety of ventures. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to operate several businesses in Oneida, Tennessee, including Tip Top Foods, the local skating rink, and the Quick Shop. He also served the Oneida community as a postmaster and teacher. After relocating to the Chattanooga area, he owned and operated a flower shop and later worked as a commercial driver. Each chapter of his career reflected his adaptability and his willingness to embrace new opportunities.

He is also survived by a host of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.

He loved to revisit and share stories from his past and his family, keeping those memories alive through the way he told them. His warmth, his memories, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
