I went to high school in the 60's with Denny and especially remember him in Glee Club for a couple of years.  I was an underclassman and recent new transplant to Hixson.  Denny was a party masquerading as a teenaged boy most of the time and was the best ice-breaker I could have hoped for.   The music teacher stayed exasperated but always with a huge smile on her face and a wink.  We all wanted to be where he was because we knew what fun would follow.  I am truly so sorry for your loss but so grateful for the memories.  RIP, Denny

"Just a Nut", what else can I say?  Denny often came to our house. He liked Mother's fried potatoes. He was best friends of my brother, Mickey, who was killed while serving our Country in Africa(U S Marine).  Denny got one of his uncles to take me up in his small plane. He was laughing when we took off. I didn't know it, but he told his uncle to fly upside down.  He thought I'd "up chuck", but I surprised him.  I didn't! What a guy. Dear Grady--
Shocked and saddened to learn of Denny's passing.
I like to remember him in his pre teen years when he wanted to grow up to be "just 
like Grady". He will surely be missed by all who knew him.

Denny and I started the first grade together at Hixson. I have great memories of growing up, riding our bikes together up and down Hamill Road, swimming in the creek and laughing. There was always laughing when Denny was around, he made sure of it.
