Bob was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and a 1970 graduate of Tennessee Tech where he received his Business Administration Degree. He retired from Cigna Corporation. Bob was a longtime member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Bob was active in his church and community, where he was instrumental in the formation of the Red Bank Volunteer Fire Department, the Signal Mountain Bass Club and the Cast for Life at Red Bank Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and was a longtime coach at the Red Bank Dixie Youth Organization.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Freeman; brother, Steven Freeman and a special cousin, Betty Wilson.
Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandy Freeman; sons, Robert “Bobby” (Courtney) Freeman and James “Jay” (Katy) Freeman; grandchildren, Kara, Mirra, Kamryn and Brice; brother, Tyler (Marilyn) Freeman; several nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by his special friends, David Lewis, Gary and Debbie Gill, John and Kathy Ahern, Jean Bearden, Gay Cohen, Linda Shell, Lynda F. Miller, Margaret “Maf” Fairchild, Carol Hamilton, Terri Cox and Freda Lee.
The family would like to thank, David Phillips, MD, Larry Schlabach, MD, Todd Fowler, MD, Rebecca Good, Lauren, the staff at Enhabit Home Health and Hospice of Chattanooga, and True Williams, RN for their love and care given to Bob.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, June 24, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service for Bob will follow at 3 pm on Saturday at the North Chapel with Senior Adult Pastor Bill Harvey officiating.
