Robert Eugene McClendon, age 87, went to his heavenly home on February 7, 2024. Upon his arrival in heaven, he was greeted by his parents, Riley and Maggie Mae, his sister Joan, his daughter Candy, his grandson Jason, and numerous friends and family members.
He leaves behind many loved ones: his devoted wife of 56 years, Judy McClendon; children Sherri Sherrill, Renee Grant, Ed Harvey, and Scott Sherrill; grandchildren Jeremy, Ashley, Skyler, Sam, Ricky, and their significant others; greatgrandchildren Layla, Carlie, Maggie, Jackson, Emma, Sophie, Jack, Rose and Ludo; brothers John and Grant; and sisters Jane and Tana.
Robert was many things: a carpenter, machinist, veteran, uncle, papaw, brother, father, and a loving husband. First and foremost, he was a man of God. Robert was a simple man whose main love was his family. These family members can take comfort in knowing that his prayers for them will continue to echo throughout their lives.
Per his request, there will be no visitation. He will be laid to rest at Hamilton Memorial Gardens on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2 PM.
