Mr. Robert Wayne Vess Sr. passed away on July 20, 2025. Robert was born in Covington, VA on March 15, 1943. He graduated from Covington High School and completed his college degree at Mars Hill College. He was a retired engineer at Shaw Industries.
Robert was preceded in death by, his wife Joyce "Dee" Vess; his parents, Fremont A. Vess Sr. and Violet L. Vess as well as brothers, Thomas Vess and Carol Bruce Vess.
Survivors include his son Rob Vess (Jennifer); son, Richard “Ricky” Vess; daughter, Michelle Miles (Scotty); 3 grandchildren, Danielle Wheeler, Candace Kirkpatrick and Dalton Miles; 1 great grandchild, Asher Kirkpatrick; and brother, Fremont Vess Jr. (Betty Jo).
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27th from 1:00 -2:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.
