Robert Carl Weir

Robert Carl 'Bob' Weir, 60, of Chattanooga passed away on Sunday, January 19th. He is survived by his mother, Alta Jean Green Weir, his sister and brother-in-law, Susan Weir Chaffin and Jeff Chaffin, two nieces, Bethany Chaffin and Amanda Carleo Chaffin, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Colville Conner Weir, and his grandparents, William O. and Edith Sparks Green, and Professor Wilford and Susan Paine Weir, and uncles Wilford Weir and Paul Green, along with several great aunts and uncles.

Bobby was born in Dayton, Tennessee, and moved with the family to Chattanooga in childhood. He graduated from Chattanooga High School and is a member of Burks United Methodist Church in Hixson, Tennessee.

Bobby was an avid sports fan who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends.

The family would like to thank Bob's devoted team of doctors, the nursing staff at Soddy Daisy Healthcare Center, and Hospice of Chattanooga for the excellent care they provided through this difficult time. The family also requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bob's honor to either Hospice of Chattanooga or the American Cancer Society. Reverend Amy Nutt of Burks United Methodist Church will be presiding.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, at the North Chapel.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 22 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Burial will be at the Rhea Memorial Gardens
