Mrs. Rosaria T Fazio

Rosaria Tropea Fazio, 95, of Chattanooga passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010.

Rosaria (Sadie) was born in New York City on May 9, 1915, to Sicilian immigrants. She worked in the garment industry designing and assembling ladies fashions including furs and wedding dresses until marring her late husband, Thomas N. Fazio.

She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, volunteered at Memorial Hospital, and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe.

She was known for her cooking and love of family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sebastiano Tropea and Maria Indelicato Tropea; husband of 61 years, Thomas N. Fazio; son, Thomas Joseph Fazio; brother, Salvatore Tropea; sisters, Josephine Tropea Cavallaro, Grace Tropea Musico.

Survivors include her son, Robert Sebastian (Beverly) Fazio; daughter-in-law, Anne F. Fazio; brother, Joseph Carmello Tropea; five grandchildren, Robin Fazio, Andrew Fazio, Joanna Fazio Clark, Jessica Fazio, and Catherine Fazio Hooper; six great- grandchildren; seventeen nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until noon on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the North Chapel followed by a family graveside service held at noon at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family requests no food or flowers be sent but rather that donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Rosaria, or just be good to a friend or a neighbor in her memory.
