

S.A. “Sam” Mosier, 86, of Chattanooga, TN went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, October 18. He was a 1950 graduate of Sherman High School in Sherman, Texas. He also attended Sherman Business College for two years. Sam was an active member of Oakwood Baptist Church on Bonny Oaks Drive where he served on the Deacon board and various other committees. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force conflict from 1950-1953.
Mr. Mosier and family moved to Chattanooga in 1967 from Sherman, Texas. He was co-owner of Chattanooga Icee Corp. Heart problems necessitated the selling of the franchise in 1989 and him retiring. Sam loved the Lord, his church and always looked forward to his Sunday morning Sunday School Class. They loved to travel and have enjoyed making several trips across the country and also numerous cruises. Sam was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather that will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Darrow Mosier; sisters, Rita Mosier and Peggy Pitt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, Building Fund.
Survivors are his wife, Martha, daughters, Sonya (Wayman) Chamber and Pam Pickett of Chattanooga; three grandchildren, Misty Thatcher of Tampa, FL, Dusty Pickett of Chattanooga and Shane Chambers of Ringgold, GA; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ron True Sunday School Class.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the North Chapel with the Rev. Ken Clark of Oakwood Baptist Church officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 3:30 pm Sunday, October 22, 2017 before the service at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153. Please share your memories at: ChattanoogaNorthChapel.com
