

Mr. Stephen Skrivan passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012. He was born July 27, 1925 in Medlovice Moravia Czechoslovakia. His mother was Hedvicka Němcová Skrivanova. His father was František Skrivan.
To forever cherish his memory, survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Paula Skrivan; daughters, Stephanie Skrivan-Birdwell and husband, Lance Birdwell of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Katrina Schleif and husband, Tommy Schleif of Chattanooga, TN; as well as two grandchildren, Lauren Birdwell and Hailey Schleif; sisters, Marie Cevelikova and Hedvika Rokitova; brother Frank Skrivan and wife Lida Skrivan.
He was part of the “Greatest Generation” and served in his adopted country during the war in both the Pacific and Atlantic from 1943-1946. He went to college on the GI Bill and graduated from The Georgia Institute of Technology in 1955 with an EE Degree. He was a member of the Chattanooga Photographic Society, Chickamauga Investment Club and the Chattanooga’s Engineer Club; a life-long member of IEEE. He was employed by Tennessee Valley Authority as a supervisor of switchboard and wiring.
A member of St. Jude Catholic Church; the visitation and mass will be held at the church on Monday, March 12 at 12 Noon with Father Charlie Burton officiating.
Visitation will be from 11 am until Noon. Service will begin after visitation. Burial will be at the National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
