

He was a graduate of City High School in 1961, and then went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He was in the insurance and Real Estate business for many years before earning his medical degree from The Santo Domingo University Medical School. He was a life long member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Ted was an avid University of Tennessee football fan and brought much joy and love to his family and friends.
He was preceeded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his wife, Libby Swingle, daughters Lynn Swingle, and Stefanie Swingle (Ron) Roberts and grand daughter Addison Foster; step daughter, Alice Wilhoit and step sons, Jeff and Scott Wilhoit, and grandchildren Kinsley, Lauren, Blake, and Paige; Brother, Charles Swingle and sister, Maxine Swingle (Winfred) Billingsley, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday and 12 Noon to 2 PM on Friday at Abba’s House in Hixson.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Abba’s House with Dr. Fred Steelman and Pastor Alan Johnston officiating.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
