Vernon S. Stacy

Vernon was beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked for DuPont until his retirement. Vernon was a member of The Gathering (Memorial Baptist Church).

Vernon is preceded in death by parents Frank and Lois Stacy.

Vernon is survived by his wife Betty Stacy; children Linda (Butch) Groves, David (Diane) Stacy, Teresa (Dewey) Roberson and Judie Brewer; grandchildren, Trevor Groves, Chris Groves, Angie Rowe, Lauren Davenport, Claire Wood, Ryan Roberson, Meredith Mosgrove and Chappell Brewer; great grandchildren, Nikki Groves, Anniston Groves, Trevor Groves, Jr., Thomas Wood, Mae Wood, Kate Wood, Knox Mosgrove, Marlee Mosgrove and Reagan Roberson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 10, 2013 from 2 – 4 pm and 6- 8 pm and Saturday, January 11, from 1 pm until the time of the service at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel.

Funeral Services for Vernon will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Price and Pastor Craig Mosgrove officiating. Active pallbearers are Butch Groves, Chris Groves, Trevor Groves, Rad Davenport, Craig Mosgrove and Ryan Roberson . Men’s Senior Adult Sunday School Class at The Gathering will act as Honorary Pallbearers.

Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Vernon’s name to The Gathering Church, 4445 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tennessee 37343
