Born in Henegar, Alabama, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Tanner, and parents, McKinley and Hettie Jones. Mrs. Tanner was retired from Erlanger Hospital where she worked as a nurse.
She is survived by sons, Lenwyde (Patty) Tanner of Sherwood, Arkansas; Billy Tanner of Chattanooga, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, sisters – Betty Ruth Ficken, Shasta Savich, and brother, David Jones.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 6, at 11:00 am at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson with the Rev. Fate Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel on Monday, June 6, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Honorary pallbearers will be Van Smith, Steve Carter, Josh Roden, Aaron Conner, Danny Lowe and Michael Sutton.
